I usually use a couple of clear bottles for the last bottles I fill from the carboy. That way I can see if I picked up any sediment off the bottom. I save those for topping off other carboy's after racking.

The primary fermenting bucket I use for red wines has some scratches on the bottom, probably from using the drill mounted stirrer. No matter how much I scrub I still always have some darker staining from the red wine left in those scratches. Is this a cause for concern? Am I risking bacterial...

Has anyone made this kit? I just picked one up on sale at my local brew shop for cheap. I was thinking about re-using my grape skin pack that I have in my Super Tuscan. Just wondering if anyone had made this and what the results were? It says it won a silver medal.
