I ended up not going with the electronic cooler design. This one has a compressor and operates like a fridge. Even better it was on sale at lowes.

We returned that one. The second one was beat up worse than the first. Time for a refund. Has anyone purchased one of these without problems? Would Lowes or Home Depot be any better?

Sorry I did not see your reply. I have not been on here in a while. This one cleared without problems. I just bottled it this weekend April 19th. So I left it in the carboy for longer than suggested in the instructions.

I decided to give one of these a try. It worked good for my first use. I did not make much of a mess compared to the bottle filling wand. The tubing did fit a little loose and I had to be careful to not pull it off. A simple tubing clamp should fix that. It is well worth the $15 for me to save...
