Hard to find Tall Stools

Thought I'd share my solution to getting stools tall enough to sit comfortably at a 48" tall counter. In retrospect I should have found a way to make a the counter lower but since I didn't do that I needed stools approx. 36" tall and just couldn't find anything either in a style I could stand or in a price range I could afford. I came across National Public Seating co. and found adjustable lab chairs at $58.00 each (bought through a dealer's rep). I added a $5.00 can of apple red paint and I ended up with what I thought was a pretty slick solution. Before and after's.

On a serious note I forgot to ask, "did you ask for stool samples before purchasing" ?

I ended up lowering my counter. I have no idea why it was at 48" to begin with.
