This may seem stupid but I was degassing a kit and the whip came loose and fell into my car boy. Rather than try to fish it out right now, I left it in. I'm not sure how else I can get it out other than empty the carboy out. I didnt want to do it because I wanted to follow the instructions of the kit.

I assume it wont hurt anything if I leave it in until I wrack in a few weeks?

As long as you cleaned and sanitized it first, and you're drill chuck isn't too nasty you should be fine. If you're degassing then you're probably post secondary and added KMeta too which will help you. If not, add a quarter teaspoon now for added insurance. Leaving it there is probably better than trying to dig around for it now. Good luck.

I am glad you asked this question - as I am sure that there are others who have done the same exact thing !

No worries - wait till your next racking - unless you need it sooner
