I posted this in beginners forum but got no response. I have a six gallon batch of chancellor grapes I'm going to start on this weekend. I've never done mlf before but would like to try it this time. I do not have a chromatography (hope that's the right word) kit to test the progress of the ML fermentation. And I probably will not buy one at this time. Is it worth trying to do without the test? Or should I just not do mlf without the testing supplies.
