I'm going to start a blackberry wine soon. I plan on adding sugar slowly to come to a SG of 1080-1090. My question is, how soon after i add the sugar should I wait to take a reading?

Also, F-packs. I now it's a flavor pack and I'm guessing it's suppose to sweeten as well. How do I make one for blackberry wine?

If you add your sugar as a simple sugar, you can just stir it in and take a reading. Simple sugar is just 2 parts sugar, one part water, heat and stir til sugar is dissolved. Add some, take a reading til you get to the s.g. you want.
For your f=pack, take about 10 % of the amount of fruit you are using, crush it up, simmer it down to concentrate it. Now you can use it as a f-pac. Arne.

Go down to the special interest wine forum. Joes wines has a good thread on making f-pacs. Way more info there than I gave you. Arne.
