I'm under the impression that using an industrial barrel steamer can remove most of past wine and get rid of all if not most of the past flavors? I'm looking to do an experiment but want to first find out if this is true, before I make the jump and buy a steamer. My experiment would involve using Oak Barrels, that have been previously used. The idea is to get rid of as much flavor as possible including the barrels.
