Hello everyone. My name is Anthony. I'm from the Baton Rouge, LA area.

About 20 years ago, a friend and I decided to brew some beer. Needless to say, it didn't work out so well (yes it was beer, yes we got hammered drinking it, yes we were massively hung over afterwards).

Fast forward about 20 years. I bought a glass carboy, hydrometer, thermometer, etc. and set about making some plum wine. But, as luck would have it, I moved the carboy to my garage shower and forgot about it. A few months later I tossed it.

Which brings us to today.

While surfing the net, I come across this:

At post 73 I got inspired:

So on my lunch break I went by the local home brew store and bought:
-7.8 Gallon Bucket with a lid
- Yeast & energizer
- Cleaner & sanitizer
- Misc additives
- etc...

Then I stopped off at Sam's and bought 4 106 oz cans of peaches and a box of fresh mangos.

Hopefully, 3 times is the charm.

Welcome. You picked a good combination for this attempt. If you have any questions just ask someone here will usually help out fairly quickly.

Welcome, Anthony! I am relatively new to the forum as well, and have already learned what a fantastic community this is. Stayed up until 3 am today reading an especially intriguing thread...not a habit to which I am accustomed, but it was well worth the lack of sleep. I know you'll find some invaluable support here. Happy wining!

Welcome to the forum!

It was the DB recipe that got me past just doing kits. I've done 5-6 DB batches to date and all have come out good to very good. The furthest I ventured from the DB recipe was to use it for a peach variation which came out okay as an early drinker and then got noticeably better with a few months aging.
