My first attempt to prepare a batch of Bentonite for 50L to clear some wine.
I followed a suggested procedure to a tee, and was expecting to end up with a creamy texture to apply. My solution ended up very watery and liquid. I left it for a day thinking that it might thicken up, but no go.
Will this consistency still be effective or should I mix another batch. Also, how long should I allow the Bentonite to work before bottling.

Hello Freddie and welcome, the bentonite is clay so I would say it does not ever become creamy but is more like a glass of muddy water. As to how long to give it, the ultimate test is to evaluate how clear the wine is. If it is hard to tell (e.g. for a red wine) you can try shining a flashlight through the carboy.
