I have a 1-gallon batch of spiced-apple wine that'll be ready to degas shortly. I was thinking of splitting it between 2 one-gallon jugs and shaking the snot out of it, then combine and pump away with a vacu-vin. Unfortunately, the shaking part introduces a bunch of O2. I'm open to suggestions.

Just use the vacu vin. It will degass it fine by itself. I use it on 5-6 gallon batches too

I found that the Vacu-vin stopper fits into the top of the twin-bubble airlock.

Thanks for the tip. I'll go that route.

Get a drilled bung that will fit. I think a #4 or so and use the base of the 3 peice airlock. works great.

Thank you, Xanxer!

I have several plastic screw tops for gallon and half gallon jugs. They have a hole for an airlock and I love them. I don't have to worry about accidentally pushing the bung into the jug. (I think they were made for me. =)
