I know age is very important in wine flavor but is their any way to get an idea of a wines flavor after about 4 weeks in the making.
I have a one gallon experiment batch of Sweet Potato from Jack K's site.

The reason I ask is I have a friend that wants me to make a 5-6 gallon batch for him to have at the Sweet Potato festival in November 09
he took a small taste of it and liked it

All I can say is that if he liked it now he'll be loving it later!!!!!!!

Pretty well what Wade says.

Have had a couple of mine start well, fade horribly and recover again to finish with my initial impression, thankfully. Don't understand why those were, but generally flavour is on the up and up.
