The kit tweaker and cheap son of gun in me won out last night. Amazon has a Paklab Chianti kit (Reserve du Chateau brand) for $32 with Prime shipping. I figure it's an excellent opportunity to try an old grape pack, oak chips, and bananas in the primary, try a "Fruity" yeast, raisins in the secondary, oak up in the wazoo in bulk aging, etc. At worst I get sangria, right?
