A Rookie's Journey</span>

</span></span></span>
<div style="text-align: left;">It all started over an article in USA Weekend 4/3/2005 "House Wines"... Humm, I wonder who was the featured oenophile?</span></span>

Anyway, I'm the guy wearing glasses, my buddies were more than happy to
help to join in on the wine making madness as soon as they found out
they could keep a couple of bottles for their hard work.</span></span>

</span></span>

My wife was kind enough to order an excellent starter kit from George for my birthday and the rest was history.</span></span>

</span></span>

We started off with a cabernet sauvignon (wine expert kit), (I know everyone
votes against this) but all of us agreed it would be worth the
wait. We assume that we'll have a nice cab ready drink by
Christmas.</span></span>

</span></span>

As
of now, the wine is in the stabilizing and clearing stage. A
couple of more weeks and we'll be ready to bottle. So far, everything
has gone as expected.</span></span>

Your'e hooked...lol....now you just have to get that washer and dryer
out of your wine room..lol..now you need another carboy and a Island
Mist kit so you can have some wine to drink sooner (4 weeks).

Great pics and welcome to the forum. Now you need to convince your buddies to start their own wines and then all of you can share bottles of wine!

Do ya think we could possibly squeeze more people and stuff into the laundry room?

Here's a picture of a closet we converted into a wine cellar.
It's work in progress. As you can see the sections need to be connected
and the finish trim needs to be picked out...

definately hooked, join the crowd... by the way, it looks like some pests, or critters are snooping around the must.... be careful, they'll consume it before you know what happened!!! i agree, island mist is a good deterent, especially for those pests
