Is there much taste difference between white Grenache Blush and a Zinfandel Blush?

I am ready to make another rose wine. I don't know whether to make the Heron Bay kit again or try the RJ Spagnols.

Thanks

I would believe that the zinfandel would have a lil more flavor as a grenache is primarily used as a blend to other wines. Both are light persay anyways.

I usually leave my zinfandel alone or blend it into others and I will create a cherry grenache from cherry concentrate simmered down. Extremely good.

Thanks for the info on the grapes.

Just out of curiosity, any preference on RJ Spagnols or Heron Bay kits?

Sorry, never made a Heron bay kit. Id probably wait for cpfan as those kits are much more easily available up North!

Heron Bay? Do they sell those up here? :)

Sorry I haven't made many blush wines, and I have only made 2 Heron Bay kits (started them in Jan 2005).

RJ Spagnols makes 4 White Zinfandel and 1 Zinfandel Blush kits. The Grand Cru Zin Blush does not include a sweeteing pouch, the White Zin kits do (as per RJS provided data from Feb 2007).

The Heron Bay kit includes a sweetening pack.

I will make a guess on relative quality as follows (top quality first)...Cellar Classic, Grand Cru International, Grand Cru, Heron Bay, Vino del Vida, Heritage Estates.

I have made several Heron Bay kits the White Grenache Blush is one of my wife's favorites. I usually bump up the starting SG to 1.085 with some simple syrup and it finishes semi dry.
