I went in to buy an air lock and came out with one of these kits that they were clearing out.

Anybody try this one? I haven't done a Legacy kit before.

WJF,

I have done two reds and one white (Legacy) and I find them to be excellent for the price. The only one I have tasted was the Pinot Noir as the others are not ready to drink yet.

Cheers,

Bob

It's still in the primary, but so far it looks good.

Funny how they suggest you leave it in the primary for 10 days rather than the usual 5-7 days for most kits.

WJF,

I always leave it in the primary until ready to clear. Most of my kits have gone down to .995 or less in about 8 days( I use a brew belt to keep the temp perfect.). After the SG is .995 or less I transfer to carboy and clear. I use nothing but super-clear and all the time my wine has cleared in two days. ( I also use the brew belt on my carboy until cleared). After its cleared I transfer to another carboy and leave for 30 days, then filter and bottle. This works for me...

Cheers,

Bob
