My wife and I are considering the Cellar Craft 12L Tempranillo kit. Given that Tempranillos are traditionally associated wit a significant oak character I'd like to add oak cubes when aging this wine. Can anyone make a good suggestion on the origin, toast, quantity, and exposure duration for oak cubes with this kit?

Thanks!
Chris

I would go with Hungarian medium toast cubes. I would us 3 ox's for around 3 months but taste it after 1 1/2 months to make sure you dont go to far beyond what you want. remember that oak will blend in properly after time so a little extra oak is what I usually recommend which is opposite of sweetening a wine as sweetness will come out more over time.
