The lowest flowers are going to bend over and hit the ground, you can harvest some of the flowers, freeze them, and then add them back to your elderberry wine to give it a great floral bouquet on top of the elderberry berry taste. WVMJ
 
Hey, Craig, how are the elderberries coming this year. I have some that have apparently ripened. Apparently, because they are missing. The birds are killing me. I've netted my blackberries and hope to salvage some of them, but probably half are gone.
 
My wife and I were talking yesterday or the day before, next year we will be doing all elderflower wine. Not letting any of them get to the berry stage. That should be interesting, too say the least.

Those are wonderful looking flowing heads. I think some of the ones we had this year might be nearly 12" across, they were huge.
