Is it best to plant vines now or in the spring?

Wife brought home several in three gal containers

In your area spring is usually a better time to plant however she got them now, so you could plant them now. They should live alright. Just don't fertilize or try to get them growing now right before winter or they might die off before spring from the cold weather.

If you do plant them now, cover the young ones with mulch, 5" or so.
Or if you can keep them in containers and leave them in attached garage. Plant them in spring.
