I was at a dinner with an open bar, and I asked if they had any dessert wines or port. The waitress comes back with the bottle, and a sample. As soon as I saw it, I knew what it was. It tasted awesome. Not wanting to break the host's bank, I asked how much, and she said $10-$15, but she would check.

She brought back a full glass (3oz?) and said it was a lot more. But, don't worry about it because the party was not close to its minimum (the party was ending in 15 minutes).

It was very nice. Smooth, rich (thick), and fruity. My wife said it tasted like raisins. I thought it tasted like a very good fruit cake - lots of different fruits, and high alcohol.

Well, I've now been spoiled. My ports will never taste like the Taylor Fladgate 40 Year Old Tawny Porto.
