Red wine changing color in primary

Hi all this is my first post on this forum, and I started my first ever bach of wine about 1 week ago.
My question is I noticed my wine (Grand Cru Merlot) has changed from a very dark color when it started, to ruby or red and has about another week to go in the primary fermenter. Is this normal? I have read about oxidizing and stuff and i have been making sure to properly sanitize.

EdwardLongShanks - welcome to the forum; it's a great place to learn.
This is normal for your wine; the juice always starts out dark like that. Oxidizing would turn it brownish but would not occur during active fermentation.
Where in the province are you?
 
Welcometo the forum EdwardLongshanks. You should have no problem with oxidation while the fermentation is active.
