Tobacco?

Sorry if this topic has been covered, but I can't use the search function from my phones browser.

Has anyone used tobacco in the primary / secondary to add flavor ?

Just a thought.

I don't think that would be safe. The alcohol would probably extract some not so great compounds (like nicotine) from the leaves. I think people have run into issues even physically handling tobacco leaves for long periods of time.
 
Seems like it would be a little strange to add a tobacco flavor to a wine. Tobacco is not poisonous when ingested, I chewed tobacco for many years. And yes there is a specific illness that affects children that work in tobacco fields because they get the sap from the leaves on their skin. It absorbs in and give you a heck of a buzz.

Personally, I would skip this experiment. One of the predominant flavors in fresh cured tobacco is a raisin taste. Try them instead.
