Hi all
I am a newbie and just learning about how to upload pictures and
stuff. I started making wine several years ago by helping a
friend pick, crush, press and punch cap but lost track of him thru the
years. BUT still wanted to make some wine of my own. Found Fine
Vines and wow did it hit home and got me started. Had some left
over stuff ie carboys, corks, thief and bottle washer. Needed
more so ordered a cab and gwertz kit and lots of stuff from
George. BUT, since we are in HOT central california needed a cool
place to work from. We have a barn with a craft room so wife said
I could have half for a wine room. OK - started a couple of days
ago and this is what we did. Had a friend help and except for
paint and finish we are done and cool. Took a 7x12 foot space
that already had insulation filled 2x4 studs; added 1 1/2 in foam
sheets and then reframed with 2x6's (had a stack of them my son gave me
and did not know what to do with them so!!) Added R19 instuation and
1/2" OSB. Seems like we have about R35 in walls and R30 in
ceiling. Hope that this works and is efficient to cool. End
result is about 7x10. All I have so hope it is enough.
Also, have a couple of cabinets in barn and think that they will
fit. Next wife wants to paint and stuff. Hopefully, will be
able to post picture when we get done. More later!!!
Shipment just came in from George and was packaged well.
Everything there and in great shape. Just gotta get started
soon.
