Default 2011 Winemaker International Amatuer Winemaking Competition

In the 2011 competition, a total of 4,235 wines were entered. Of that Kit wines accounted for 2,639 entries or 62% of the total. Of that, approximately 800 kit entries (306 RJ, 220 WE, 213 CC and rounded up for "all others") got a medal for an approximate 30% of wine kit entries being recognized. Or, flipped around, 70% of kit wines entered did not receive a medal.
It would be interesting to learn if the entries of the big three were proportional to their medal numbers, or more equally represented. In other words, did RJ Spagnols kits win the most medals because they had the most entries, or because their kits turn out better? ( or are RJs customers just better winemakers?)
