Was talking to a neighbor winemaker the other night and the conversation came to label removal.

This is his tip... [I haven't tried it]...Anyone going to bottle soon...Please try a couple labels and get back to us.

* He said...before he puts the sticky label on the bottle he gives it a light dusting of talcum powder....He claims the label sticks to the bottle good, but peels off easily.

Sounds odd...but...you never know.

Well I had to give it a try with a blank label. Dusted lightly with powder and applied to the bottle and it promptly fell off leaving a layer owf powdr behind. I washed both the bottle and label and tried applying it- it sticks, but not sure how well. I will let it dry and try to peel off. I think a glue stick would be easier.

I didn't know if that would work or not...he must give it a really light dusting....doesn't seem like it would stay on very long.

I like the glue stick too...cheap and not too messy.
