Default Not to sweet

ive made my first kit a vinters select german reisling kit all went well until now. after primary and secondary ferm i racked again. its been clearing in the carbouy for 14 days and has turned out lookin good. I tried a little sample taste and its not sweet enough for me. so how do i back sweeten do i just add sugar or what. note ; this kit didnt come with an f packet

You could make up a simple syrup (2 parts sugar/one part water) on the stove and then add it to your wine once it cools. Just add enough until it's almost to where you like it.

Do as Dan says and make sure you have stabilized the wine with k-meta and k-sorbate before adding the simple syrup. As Dan cautions, add it slowly to just below where you think you like it. It tends to sweeten slightly afterward.

I would be careful, I made that kit twice and it took almost 2 years before the wine came into full flavor, if you back sweeten now it might be to sweet later
