I need to clear a 1 gallon batch of strawberry wine.

I purchased a bottle of Sparkolloid. Directions state 1 tbsp in 1 up of water to clear 6 gallons? How much for a 1 gallon jug.

Also I'm reluctant to remove 8 oz of juice and replace with the Sparkolloid solution - won't that dilute the gallon.

Last one - is it necessary to boil water for the solution - could I possible just draw a cup of juice and stir the Sparkolloid in it and add it back?

Thanks for the help

I am not real familiar with use of this product but a quick search shows there are two types of sparkolloid, hot mix and cold mix and they are added to either boiling water or cold water as the name suggests.

I would say 1-2 tsp should be fine for 1 gallon. Here is a site with more info on these products and their usage.
